Chartered in Connecticut in 1868, Torrington Savings Bank is one of the longest established banks in the state. As a mutual savings bank, we are conservatively guided; strongly capitalized; safe and secure; and managed according to the best interests of our local communities. Our mutual status allows us to share our profits with our customers in the form of very attractive rates for both savings accounts and loans.

Over 150 Years of Success
Torrington Savings Bank celebrated 150 years in business in 2018. We are very proud of our past and present support of the communities we serve – through donations and employee volunteerism.
In 2019, Torrington Savings Bank gave over $290,000 to more than 225 groups and individuals. This included $57,000 through the Bank’s matching gift program to local 501(c)(3) organizations, along with over $22,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors and college students, $137,000 in contributions to area fundraising events and an additional $80,300 in community support for event sponsorships. Our employees generously give their time through participation in a number of different non-profit organizations. In 2019, Torrington Savings Bank employees volunteered over 1,990 hours to various activities within the communities that we serve. Torrington Savings Foundation launched its inaugural grant cycle in October of 2019 and awarded $41,890 in support of agencies aligned with their mission.
